Hugh Mundell – Why Do Black Man Fuss & Fight
A true roots reggae classic. Hugh Mundell wrote and recorded this song when he was just 16 years. Producer Augustus Pablo has left his strong mark in this record.
Hugh Mundell was shot dead sitting in a car in Kinston, just 21 years old!
Keith Hudson – Darkest Night On A Wet Looking Road
This dark and gloomy gem is from 1975.

Israel Vibration – Vultures

Abyssinians: Satta, Third World: Jah Glory
Satta Masagana by Abyssinians is a classic reggae album from the 70′s. Contains great songs like Declaration of Rights, Satta, Good Lord and Y Mas Gan. One of my top ten albums ever.
In the end of this video there is a wonderfully light and joyfull Third World version of their Jah Glory. Life is good!

Gregory Isaacs – Border
Gregory Isaacs’ production from late seventies – early eighties has a special place in the history of roots reggae. Here you can see Gregory at his best live at Brixton Academy 1981! No question why he’s being called “Cool Ruler”

Mighty Diamonds – Right Time
Heard this one for the first time back in 1976. Virgin Records released their Front Line collection with samples from artists like U-Roy, Johnny Clarke, Keith Hudson and Mighty Diamonds. This album was one of the first reggae albums I ever bought, the price was 5 finnish marks (about one dollar) and it stands out even today as one of the best compilations ever.
